• Nivi is a drape skirt saree constructed in fluid silk satin and designed to translate the structure of a traditional saree into a tailored garment. The front construction replicates the pleats and fall of a saree, creating the appearance of a saree drape across the body. The name refers to the nivi style of saree draping, the most widely worn drape in india, where pleats fall at the front and the pallu wraps across the body. In this piece, those elements are translated into a structured garment so the drape is built directly into the form.
