The name draws from pointillé, a term used in art to describe images formed through small units that collectively create a larger visual surface. In this brocade, the repeated geometric forms create a similar effect where individual elements merge into a continuous pattern. The textile is handwoven in azamgarh, uttar pradesh, where zari brocade weaving traditions continue to inform contemporary textile practice. The trousers carry the brocade pattern across the entire garment, allowing the metallic zari to catch light subtly with movement. The top is an angrakha inspired blazer featuring a wrap construction and a carefully structured shoulder line that creates a flattering and balanced silhouette.
